Construction of Casa Burano, which was completed in 2016, saw the inclusion of the greatest in Venetian design. The floors in all the entryways are paved with mosaics from Orsoni, the only remaining varnish and enamel manufacturer in Venice. Since 1888, they have produced glass mosaics with gold leaf, as well as nearly 3,000 shades of varnish that have been used in the most important mosaics in the world. The upper floors are paved with Itlas wood; Itlas uses the same Piave wooden planks that were once used to build the ships of the naval fleet of the Venetian Republic. The furniture was created by design icons of the Veneto region, like Moroso, a chair design company from Udine that collaborates with some of the greatest designers in the world; Arclinea from Vicenza, which designs innovative kitchens with natural materials and avant-garde technology; Trend, also from Vicenza, founded in 2000 by Pino Bisazza, which marries design with the art of mosaics; Glass 1989 from Oderzo, a leader in spa design; Panto, whose windows frame the colorful panorama of the island of Burano; FontanaArte, an historic lighting design brand that is now part of the renonwed Gruppo Nice; Blozan Letti, a company from Treviso that combines design and artisanal craftsmanship in the creation of tailor-made beds; and Vimar, a leader in the electronics sector that has applied its home technology to Venissa in order to offer the utmost comfort to the guests of the Wine Resort. These companies believed in this project from the beginning and contributed to the creation of what can truly be considered an inhabitable showroom. The Bisol family’s passion for their home region manifests itself not only in food and wine, but also in the best of Made in Italy design.
